  1. I was there when the bomb was dropped on Osage Ave. I was working at Walnut Park Plaza, a geriatric residence as an instructor in the spring of 1985. The Philadelphia police, commandeered our offices as a headquarters. It was an amazing tragedy to a black neighborhood, the city and the nation, the first time an American city was bombed by its mayor and police. The real tragedy was for the neighborhood which was destroyed, displacing the residents for years and rebuilt by an incompetent and corrupt developer. The loss of life was exacerbated by the continuing mismanagement, corruption and politicization of MOVE and the city.
